Day Four is Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, which might just be my favourite book. Favourites do vary from time to time, and it's notoriously hard to choose just one book, but there really is something special about Neverwhere. It started out in life as a TV mini-series, but grew into a bigger, more in-depth story that just grabs you and reels you in. I love the world, I love the characters, I love the descriptions, and the magic of the whole thing. Great book.

No, the book that accompanied the TV series had a symbol on the front, same as on the original DVD cover: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neverwhere-15th-Anniversary-Edition/dp/B01GWC1G0W/

My copy of the book has a lame cityscape, with inexplicable flaming clouds. It's all shades of brown, and nowt to do with the book really. Most covers so far have been brown-flavoured and very dull. Gaiman could seriously do with a better design team! IIRC the rat's head in the above cover goes round the spine of the book.

I think I might prefer the rat! Clearly, Neil Gaiman's design team likes to live by the rule of not judging a book by it's cover.
