Further episodes of True Blood have been passing my way. More blood, more sex, more naked Jason Stackhouse.
I can definitely do without the latter. Thanks ever so.
That vampire night-club is cool. It shouldn't be, not with all those painted Goths milling around trying to look edgy - but it is. Maybe because they're something of a parody? I can't quite decide if the high-speed dancing is being played for laughs, but it doesn't stop the place being cool. The title is a nice touch, too. Lame, but explicably so. I love the excuse that puns were funny back when most local vampires were born. :D
OMG they killed [name removed for spoiler purposes]! I can't believe they killed [name removed for spoiler purposes]! I liked [name removed for spoiler purposes]!
Jason is still ghastly. Pathetic and nasty, although not, I hope, irredeemable. We shall see. Although I wish that they'd killed him off instead of [name removed for spoiler purposes].
Just checking... Nope, hero still named Bill.
And on the subject of names... the author of these books is doing it on purpose, she must be. The vampire night-club sports a seriously cool, seriously old, apparently seriously powerful vampire. And he's called? Eric. Eric. Hopefully there'll be more of him in future, because he's certainly very interesting, and I'm guessing has quite a story behind him. Even if he is called Eric.
Lafayette is growing on me. He seems less like a bundle of stereotypes now. Giving vampire blood to Jason Stackhouse is probably the stupidest thing ever, though - if quite funny, as it turned out. Tara, you can do way better than Jason, though. Look elsewhere, please. Like at the werewolf, perhaps.
I love the little pieces on TV about the Vampire Rights Movement. Yes, at times it is a heavy-handed allegory, but it's a fun one. Somebody's done a very nice job of filming these little snippets of interviews and chat shows for when characters are channel-hopping.
Bill cries tears of blood. That's actually rather cool. Don't know why. Just is.
Tara's mother is brilliant. What a performance! She's all twitchy and jerky and shuffly. A real tragic, ruined shell of a woman. I don't know why I feel sorry for her, but not for Jason. This might have something to do with the fact that Tara's mother wears clothes, or it might just be because she kind of reminds me of somebody. I don't know. Nice acting job, anyway.
Bill's talk about the Civil War was cool. Also, the woman who turned him is fascinating. Hopefully we'll see more of her in future. For some reason I'm assuming she's dead now, but there is always The Land Of Flashback.
There are some truly awful people in this town. I love how they make a family outing out of watching a murder scene. They're hypocritical and prejudiced, loud-mouthed and opinionated. I rather like it. I probably wouldn't like them as neighbours, but they're good for background colour. One thing you can certainly say for this show - it isn't bland.
Eric. Eric. Oh well. I suppose it could have been worse...
