Or "Smirk Snog Batter Bash", to give it it's more literal name.
It's nice to have Torchwood back. I've missed it. I like the characters, I like the sense of fun, and I like the set up, with aliens in Cardiff, and weird goings-on, and everybody knowing all about this "secret" organisation. It's hugely enjoyable, and it's been away too long. And tonight there wasSpike James Marsters and violence and joking and violence and fun and a big explosion and some dodgy FX and violence. And snogging. And some awesome costumes from The Oversexed Twins. If it had only had Myfanwy in it too it would have been well nigh perfect. Yes, there were a few too many daft jokes at the expense of a little plot coherency - but given that I'm perfectly happy to forgive Primeval the occasional plot hole just as long as it gives me lots of monsters, and Stephen with a big gun, I think I can forgive Torchwood too. And it wasn't a major issue. And I loved Captain John's childish reaction to finding out that Jack's immortal. Once the initial shock had faded, he was endearingly petulant.
More John, please. The big über trailer at the end of the episode heavily suggested that he's back later in this series, but I would like a third series please, and he should be in that too. Lots and lots and lots. Or a bit, anyway. There is much potential for misbehaviour, and Ianto jealousy. And I'm rambling. The Cajun flavour crisps aren't helping. They're making my tongue dance, and it's quite distracting. Nice, though. Anyways: KKBB in ten shiny screencaps:
