Hello from 2005

Well, this is fun. After my router got fried by the storm a few weeks back, I had to resort to my back-up one, which is very old. And has now apparently died. So I've had to get my old computer out of storage, since it still has one of the old style modems. (They don't work on Windows 7, so I can't use it with my usual machine). So I am now on my ancient, steam-powered Windows XP computer, with a rickety old modem. I love my old computer, don't get me wrong; it was the first one I ever bought. But it's slow. And I do mean s...l...o...w... It doesn't like most websites, it can barely cope with Firefox, and it locked up for half the afternoon when I tried to check e-mail. I have ordered a new router, obviously! But in the meantime I shall be back in the stone age, communicating by carrier pigeon.

I am not especially a fan of thunder storms. Just in case anybody was wondering.
