'80 was my first year in school, there was an election, and I learned about the Peanut Farmer (Jimmy Carter) vs the Actor (Ronald Reagan). It was the year of Doctor Who (Ark in Space with Four and Sarah and Harry and Cybermen) and of my discovering Star Trek FotoNovels which introduced me to this back history for The Motion Picture (My dad is still horrified that I didn't see an episode of TOS until after the 3rd movie was out).
