When life allows, I like to go for a good long walk once a week. I live in the Cotswolds, so it only makes sense to make use of the hills; and besides, my brain only really functions properly in solitude, and it pays to give it a recharge as often as possible. I don't usually bother the internet with the details, as I don't have a camera, but I borrowed somebody else's this weekend. So have pictures! Of wandering, and general greenliness.




This is my favourite road.


Up a hill. Note the other hills flaunting the fact that they're higher. Gits.


They're even still that bit higher when you climb a tree, which is just unfair.


A wood. Though sadly not a very big one.

I have no way of knowing how long a walk is. Probably no more than eight or nine miles, as I usually aim to be gone for around three hours, and it's all twisty-turny and up and down hills. Not everybody's thing, I know (be it a matter of taste or opportunity), but as I watch my parents become less and less able to walk, I think I find myself more and more determined to do what I can, when I can. Also, the solitude is utterly fantastic. There is nothing like the quiet of a world away from people. I recommend it. Just as long as you find your own place, and don't all come here. ;)

Yes, I'm very lucky, I know. I really should appreciate the scenery more than I do.

Cameras cost money! Mind you, at least these days you don't have to pay to get the film developed. I will probably get one eventually.

Okay. This is weird. Not only do you like Adam Adamant, but you live in the Cotswolds. I went to school on the very edge of (Chipping Sodbury) and my dad is from Cirencester. Small world.

Cirencester is a nice place. I spent a day there recently. Very impressed by the church.

I've almost always had my sister's old ones and the cameras have been really good. I only need a mobile for my sister and cousin which is also the reason I am on FB. Dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century!!
