I tried to conquer the macro addiction, I really did. Okay, no I didn't. And in my defence, oonaseckar did say yes to nature pictures. This was probably just to humour me, but whatever. :)

I love water snails. I make no apologies for this.



I also love pond skaters. And waterboatmen, but I couldn't find any of them. These are uncooperative little sods, as they don't like to stand still, but sometimes you get lucky.



Although it does help when you catch one nomming on a fly. Yum yum. Don't they have great eyes!

Hoverfly on a pear blossom. Got lucky here too, as it buggered off as soon as I moved. I couldn't get the very pretty bumble bee to sit still even for a moment. I will get it. One day.


Beetle! I think it must be Ringo, 'cause of the nose. Note gigantic cat hair. They really do get absolutely everywhere.

I hope nobody's scared of insects. These are very friendly ones though, honest.
